The CSG D.C. Office connects state leaders to the national and international policy processes through analysis, advocacy, and other outreach efforts focused on the most pressing issues impacting state governments and building on CSG's strengths as a regionally-based, inter-branch organization. Our goal is to help our members give more to their states by keeping them informed and engaged with the federal government.

Information requests: We help our members understand how their work in state capitols interacts with federal laws and policies. In addition, we help state officials understand how pending and recently passed federal laws will impact their state. The best way for us to serve our members is to hear from them! Advocacy: CSG D.C. is an advocate for state governments in Washington, D.C. We communicate regularly with Congressional, Agency, and White House officials to make sure the interests of our members are known and understood. Please see our advocacy efforts and policy positions that drive them, these efforts are guided by the Intergovernmental Affairs Committee that CSG-DC staffs.

Legal Task Force: CSG D.C. staffs a legal task force that advises the organization on litigation in federal courts that has the potential to impact the fundamentals of federalism.
